Building a Travel Wardrobe

The goal of a travel wardrobe isn't to pack everything — it's to pack the right things. Five pieces that make fifteen outfits. Fabrics that don't wrinkle, don't smell, and dry overnight. Colours that work together so you never stand in front of a hotel mirror wondering what goes with what.

The formula

Two bottoms, three tops, one layer, one dress. That's it. The bottoms should both work with all three tops; the layer should work over the dress and over the tops; the dress should work alone for the one day you want to not think. Everything in the same colour family.

The anchor: one co-ord set

The Cocoa Linen Co-ord Set is the foundation. Wear it together on the flight. Split it up on arrival: the shirt with cream shorts you brought, the pants with a tank from the rest of your capsule. That's already three outfits from one purchase.

The tops

The Sand Linen Wrap Top, the Oat Linen Tie-Neck Top, and one colour pop — the Colour-Block Linen Tank or the Moss Chanderi Popover. Sand, oat and cocoa are all in the same neutral family; they mix without thinking. The colour pop is for photos.

The dress

The Cocoa Linen Swing Dress for the day you don't want to coordinate anything. It works for sightseeing, for a casual dinner, for a long travel day when you just want one piece that does the job.

The layer

The Champagne Silk Jacket for air-conditioned restaurants, cool evenings, and the flight home. Silk packs small, doesn't wrinkle, and elevates everything underneath.

The packing method

Roll, don't fold. Linen creases either way, but rolling creases it evenly — which reads as texture, not sloppiness. Pack the silk jacket last, on top, flat. Shoes go in bags at the bottom.

Frequently asked questions

How many days can this cover?
Five to seven comfortably. For longer trips, repeat outfits — nobody notices but you.

What about laundry?
Linen dries overnight in most climates. Rinse in the sink with shampoo, squeeze gently, hang on a chair.
