Five Linen Myths, Retired
Linen carries more folklore than any other fabric — most of it decades out of date, some of it never true. If any of these five have been keeping you in poly-blends, consider them retired.
Myth one: linen is high-maintenance
Machine wash, cold, gentle cycle. Shade-dry. That's the entire routine — no dry cleaning, no special detergent, no hand-wash ritual. Linen is arguably the lowest-maintenance natural fabric you can own, and it gets softer with every wash instead of wearing out.
Myth two: the wrinkles look sloppy
Soft linen creases read as relaxed, not careless — they're the visual signature of a natural fibre. A washed finish settles the worst of it. The Washed Linen Wrap Top arrives pre-washed and lived-in on purpose; nobody has ever looked at it and thought "unironed."
Myth three: linen is expensive
Good linen is usually priced like a small luxury. It doesn't have to be — every linen piece we make sits between ₹1190 and ₹1490. The fabric isn't inherently costly; the markup usually is.
Myth four: linen is only for casual wear
Cut decides formality, not fibre. A fitted linen top with a mandarin collar and a neck-tie — the Oat Linen Tie-Neck Top — reads polished enough for any meeting. Structure up top, linen underneath: office-done.
Myth five: linen is a summer-only fabric
Linen regulates rather than just cools — it breathes in heat, dries fast in humidity, and layers cleanly when the evening drops. It's a three-season fabric in most of India; summer is just when you notice it most.

Shop the linen editFrequently asked questions
Does linen shrink in the machine?
Only in hot water. Wash cold and pre-washed pieces barely move at all.
Is cheaper linen lower quality?
Not automatically — price reflects brand positioning more than fibre. Judge the weave and the finish, not the tag.
