Pintucks, Explained
A pintuck is a fold of fabric a few millimetres wide, stitched flat so it stays a fold forever. Run a dozen of them in parallel and a plain top acquires architecture. It's the quietest form of ornament we know — no print, no embroidery, no shine. Just fabric, folded on purpose.
What a pintuck actually does
Three things. It adds structure — the stitched folds hold a clean vertical line even in a relaxed fabric. It plays with light — each ridge casts a hair of shadow, so the surface shifts as you move. And it lengthens — vertical lines lead the eye up and down, the oldest flattering trick in tailoring, done here without a single dart of severity.
The piece that carries it
The Indigo Pintuck Linen Top runs rows of fine vertical pintucks down each side of the front — deep indigo linen, sleeveless, V-neck, easy fit. The tucks are the whole event: no print could survive on a colour this deep, but structure can. Sharp enough for work, soft enough for everything after. ₹1350.

Pintucks belong to the same family as the details we keep returning to — the woven motifs on the Black Woven Wrap Shirt, the frog knots on the Champagne Silk Jacket. Ornament that's built into the making, not applied after. It's why these pieces read expensive from across a room and calm from up close.
How to style a pintucked piece
Let it be the texture of the outfit. Plain wide-leg trousers, plain skirt, minimal jewellery — the tucks are doing the detailing. And keep the iron away from the folds' edges; press lightly from the reverse and the ridges stay crisp for years.

Do pintucks flatten out in the wash?
No — they're stitched, not pressed. They survive every wash; only aggressive ironing over the ridges can dull them.
Are pintucks formal?
They lean polished, which is the useful part: the same top reads office-ready with trousers and easy with denim.
